Thank you DocP your review was very helpful. It took me and my hubby about 6 hours to hang this mural...with lots of long breaks and failed attempts to smooth out bubbles.A few tips: draw a vertical line centered in the middle of the wall, use a pencil to number the panels on the back (same as on the box), mix the paste with 2 liters and a cup of water, stir so it's not clumpy. Then let sit for 20 minutes. I use a 4 inch microfiber paint roller to apply the paste. It was helpful in saturating the paper. I had just enough paste for all eight panels and enough left to use my fingers to apply paste to the remaining dry edges.I watched a few wall paper videos on You Tube and use a method called "booking" which is folding the pasted sides of the panel on its self to keep the paste from drying as you wait the 3 minutes for the panel to a absorb the moisture of the paste. The panel should be thoroughly covered with paste.I started with pasting the right corner of panel two inline with my centered vertical line. Then I hung panel 1 to the left matching the pattern, then panel 3 and 4, to the right of panel 2. I hung the lower panels in the same order, 6 adjacent to the vertical line, then 5 to the left of it, and then 7, and 8.If you need to trim the paper do not put paste on that area, trim first leaving little extra in case of error. I tried to trim the wet paper with a utility knife it just tore the paper. I pasted the area I need to trim, then had to wait for it to dry...use the razor to cut the paper...Then apply water to the paper with a cloth to pull the paper off the wall. This mural covered my entire wall end to end, and still had extra length and width to trim. so I decide to move the mural up a few inches. Which cause me to have to trim the top....tried trim it wet ...It tore. The panels are heavy and difficult to work with when wet (paste applied)...if you are new to hanging wall paper get someone to help you.It had a lot of bubbles but dried smooth. If one panel is crooked they all will be. i continously wipe the panels with a clean damp microfiber cloth (or sponge as recommended) to remove excess paste of the front of the panels. It looks great my edges look bad...but I will fix that with crown molding. It's a nice addition to my hubby's man cave...he loves NYC.Put up the mural yesterday. At first I was very frustrated. I used a roller to apply the paste and when I put the first panel up on the wall it kept getting medium to large bubbles, no matter how many times I smoothed it with a wallpaper brush. Took it down, read the reviews, got discouraged, and thought about purchasing either adhesive or new paste. My 15 year old daughter solved the problem. She suggested that we weren't putting enough paste on before we put it up. We applied a second coating of paste and it worked wonderfully. Panels went up quickly. The few small bubbles and wavy spots cleared out when it dried and it looks amazing in my daughter's room. She is thrilled! Now for the suggestions. First make sure you use a putty knife and scrape off all the little pointy nubs that may be present on the wall from the last time you painted. I also used one of those sanding sponges that are used to smooth out spackled areas. I ran the sanding sponge across the entire wall just to remove any small pointy nubs. If you don't get rid of even the very small pointy nubs they will show through the mural. (I missed a few and can see them).Next I covered the wall with sizing compound using a roller. I let that dry and then I applied the mural. I overlapped the panels by a few mm, which made sense when I lined up the images on the edges between the two panels. This will also solve the problem that some comments indicated regarding shrinkage resulting in spaces between the panels. I mixed the paste per the directions and used a rolling pan and a smooth surface roller to apply the paste. I placed the mural on a large piece of the pink foam board that you use to put insulation on the side of a house. This allowed me to get consistent application of the paste. To make sure I got enough paste on the mural I ran a light coat across the mural and then went back over it a second time. Very important to get the edges covered well with paste so that they don't curl up. In a couple spots I put some paste on my finger and reapplied it to the edges that didn't adhere well. I removed the outlet cover plates and put clear packaging tape over the outlets before applying the panels. I used a utility knife with a new blade to trim around the outlets and along the moldings. The finished product truly looks amazing.Looks good Here a tip when using paste make the paste a couple of days before to ensure there are no lumps? Also use a clean roller to squeeze any air bubbles outgreat productPurchased for my grandson who loves itVery happy with this productHappy buying
